Ebrahim Elahi, M.D., FACS

Dr. Ebrahim Elahi is an Associate Clinical Professor at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York specializing in Ophthalmic and Oculofacial surgery. He is presently the Director of Fifth Avenue Eye Associates, and past Director of the Mount Sinai Hospital Eye Care Services. An experienced surgeon who has pioneered several innovative techniques in ophthalmic and oculofacial surgery, Dr. Elahi lectures both nationally and internationally in his field of specialty and has published numerous articles and book chapters while serving as an active reviewer for peer review journals in ophthalmology. He is the recipient of multiple teaching awards, including the Abraham Kornzweig Award for Outstanding Educator, and is a member of the AOA medical honor society.

A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Dr. Elahi completed both his medical and postgraduate training at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and received his Fellowship training at Mount Sinai and the Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Infirmary. His primary academic interests include the study of age-related changes in the orbit and the periocular region, as well as the influence of spiritual thought on neurocognitive behavior. In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Elahi has a keen interest in international health and development, and has led numerous surgical expeditions worldwide, including recent trips to Liberia and Burundi. Dr. Elahi sits on the board of several nonprofit organizations and is active in various state medical committees.
